What
are Community Centers?
A Community Center can be a brick and mortar center... and/or a Community
Web Site located in every neighborhood, village,
town, tribe and city... with Regional Community Centers and Continental
Community Centers... see writings... Guidebook
1.
Centers are open and inclusive and are always reaching out to the total
community to include everyone to help eliminate apathy. A
place for conversation,
barter, employment exchange, a one stop call in places, to ask for and/or offer
help, a places for communities to get together.
2.
They promote democracy and strive to include the minority thus increasing
participation by all community people.
3.
Centers are big and small, located in;
schools, office, religious, town or city buildings, in someone's home, or other centrally
located places.
4.
A Community Centers can be COMMUNITY WEB SITE computer internet access
information centers.
5.
A places to educate each other where the elderly and the young help each other.
A places for tutoring, food education, the arts, story telling, a places to find
mentors, a continuous town meeting and much much more. The only limitation is a
communities imagination and determination.

HOW IT WORKS:
The end result is... a Community Center set up in every neighborhood,
village, town, tribe, city on the planet... with regional Community Centers and Continental
Centers... all connected together... independent of all governments but working
with all governments.
What
! are Community Connections Goals ?
1. To help create, maintain and connect together, sustainable communities
centers, everywhere.
2.
To create a way and opportunities in communities for people to come together in a safe,
caring, and inclusive way to help one another.
3. To provide in
this web site shared information about the
education and communications support necessary to connect people with their
community, and then their community with Communities around the world.
4. To help people develop
and share with each other projects that promote a more peaceful, pollution-free planet.
5. To use The
United Nations, Declaration of Human Rights as a standard and ethical model for
individuals, groups, community connections and centers.
6. To work together
as a world community, through a global network of communities, connected
together to provide the necessities of life for all people.

TWELVE STEPS For Global
Recovery
WE...
Raise Both Hands in the AIR ( if You want to ) Citizens of Planet Earth, do
here-by declare and do hereby proclaim and Announce to the World that WE...
1.
Admit we are powerless over global problems, that our world has become
unmanageable.
2.
Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could remove all out fears
and restore the world and all people
of the planet to sanity.
3. Made
the decision to turn our will, our life and global problems over to a Higher
Power as we understand the Creator to be.
4.
Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of our personal and collective
Global Community wrongs against the planet and the people.
5.
Admitted to a Higher Power, Ourselves, and another Human Being the exact nature
of these wrongs.
6.
Were entirely ready to have a Higher Power remove all these defects and wrongs
WE have done against humanity and the planet.
7.
Humbly asked our Higher Power to remove these shortcomings.
8.
Made a list of all harms we had caused, to people, places, things and the
planet.
9.
Made direct amends to all people, places, things and the planet, except when to
do so would create further injury or harm.
10.
Continued to take a personal inventory and when we were wrong, promptly admitted
it.
11.
Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with our
Higher Power, praying only for knowledge of the Creator's will, wisdom,
serenity, courage, for Ourselves and all Peoples and the strength to carry out
our Higher Power's Will.
12.
Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of
these steps, We try to carry this message to all
Earth Citizens who suffer, and to practice these Principles in All Our Daily
Affairs.
And now...
the TWELVE HELPFUL HINTS for Community Centers Operation and
Earth Citizens connection to Centers... around the globe and
to keep Centers similar.
1.
Our common welfare comes first: global recovery from problems depends upon
Community Centers and Volunteers United, Globally.
2.
For our Community Centers and Volunteers Purpose there is but one ultimate
authority, a Loving Higher Power as it may express itself in our group
consciences.
3..Our
Community Centers and Volunteers are but trusted servants, They Do Not Govern.
4.
The only requirement for Community Centers and Volunteers participation is a
desire to Help Others.
5.
Each Community Centers and Volunteers should be autonomous, except in matters
affecting other Community Centers and Volunteers as a whole.
6.
Each Community Centers and Volunteers have but one primary purpose, to carry
this message to those who still need help and are suffering anywhere on the
planet, Teaching By Example.
7.
A Community Centers and Volunteer's ought never endorse, finance, or lend its
name to any related facility or outside enterprise, to avoid problems with
money, property and prestige which could divert us from our primary purpose.
8.
Every Community Centers and Volunteer's ought to be fully self supporting, yet
can accept outside contributions, grants and donations.
9.
Community Centers and Volunteers can remain forever volunteer and
non-professional, yet Centers may employ special workers to complete specific
tasks.
10.
Community Centers and Volunteers will need organization and some service boards
and/or committees to oversee the operations of local, regional and/or
continental Centers.
11.
Community Centers and Volunteers have limited opinion on outside matters;
Centers should operate in a helpful... non-profit, referral and exchange
community center capacity only, thus the Centers names ought never be drawn into
public controversy.
12.
Our public relations policy is based on attraction and promotion of Community
Centers and Volunteers locally, regionally and continentally, to enhance all
peoples' lives, now, and for all generations to come.
Community
Centers and Volunteers, along with a strong spiritual foundation, fuel all our
helpful hints, ever reminding all
Earth Citizens and Volunteers
to
place principles before personalities.
The

What
is Community Connections? 1992
We
are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that is committed to our mission and
goals.
The
following are actions we are taking to accomplish our goals and fulfill our
mission:
1.
Educational Materials: Since 1991 Community
Connections has published and distributed educational materials that help people
build healthy communities.
2.
EC-NEWS: For three years we have published and distributed a news magazine
called EARTH CITIZENS NEWS. This is the voice of Community Connections.
3.
Sustainable Centers: For four years we have
been developing options and resources that help community centers become self
supporting.
4.
Community Teams: Through our experience of the past five years and discussions
with literally 1000's of people, we have determined that teams of people are
helpful to help set up community centers.
5.
Parenting: We continuously search out new ideas
and resources that help people build a local and global network of community
centers.
6.
Earth Summits: We have, and will continue to,
participate in global conferences and work will people, groups, communities and
the United Nations.
